Our rug cleaning method,
in six steps.

Step 01

Deep dusting

Multiple passes of gentle deep dusting extract decades of dust, grit and allergens without stressing the fibre.
Step 02

Hand washing in the workshop

Your rug is washed by hand in a pH-controlled bath, with plant-based soaps matched to each fibre — wool, silk, cotton or synthetic.
Step 03

Successive gentle rinses

Rinse after rinse in clear water until every residue is gone. The fibre returns to its natural balance.
Step 04

Flat drying

Dried flat at room temperature in a ventilated workshop, over 48 to 72 hours. No forced drying that shrinks or warps the weave.
Step 05

Colour revival

A finishing treatment restores depth to traditional vegetable dyes. Reds turn rich again; blues recover their original nuance.
Step 06

Bespoke finishing

The pile is combed, the fringes re-tensioned, a natural moth-proofing treatment applied on request. Delivered back to your door with a photo report.
