Brussels has kept close company with the knotted rug — the Sunday brocante du Sablon, the Art
Nouveau hôtels de maître around the Squares, the diplomatic families the European institutions
settle into Ixelles and Etterbeek. Yet the capital long lacked one thing: a place to wash such pieces
flat, by hand, rather than through a machine.
That is the gap Tapis Boeuf closes. A family atelier founded in 1950, it sends insured
collection rounds across all nineteen communes and washes each rug at our Sartrouville workshop — wool
from 50 € per m², silk from 89 € per m². See our
full artisan hand-washing method.
